How to bulk Enable/Disable WordPress Maintenance Mode using cPFence Tools?

Toggle Maintenance Mode (WebUI Method)

  1. Open cPFence WebUI, pick your server, and navigate to Tools & UtilitiesWP-AutoShield Bulk Tools.
  2. Select Enable Maintenance Mode to show the default offline page, or Disable Maintenance Mode to bring sites back online.
  3. Confirm the command; cPFence drops/cleans the .maintenance file on every chosen site.
  4. Use the optional site selector to limit the maintenance window to a subset of domains.
  5. Check the log output for success before informing customers.

Plan the enable/disable cycle during off-peak hours to minimize disruption.

Command Line (CLI) Method

  1. SSH into the server.
  2. Enable maintenance mode everywhere:
    cpfence --bulk-enable-maintenance-mode
  3. Disable it afterward:
    cpfence --bulk-disable-maintenance-mode
