Toggle Search Engine Visibility (WebUI Method)
- Log into cPFence WebUI and choose the server.
- Go to Tools & Utilities ➜ WP-AutoShield Bulk Tools.
- Open Disable Search Engine Indexing to hide sites, or Enable Search Engine Indexing to expose them again.
- Confirm the action; cPFence flips the “Discourage search engines” flag inside
wp_optionsfor every selected site. - Watch the log to verify completion.
Use the site selector toggle when you only want staging domains hidden.
Command Line (CLI) Method
- SSH into the target server.
- Disable indexing everywhere:
cpfence --bulk-disable-search-engine-index - Re-enable indexing when ready:
cpfence --bulk-enable-search-engine-index
Don’t forget to clear caches so meta tags update promptly.
