How to Update cPFence Software & Signatures ?

cPFence software and malware definitions are updated automatically by default. However, if you need to manually run updates across your servers, both CLI and WebUI methods are available.

Method 1: Update from WebUI

To update cPFence across your servers using the WebUI:

  1. Navigate to Tools & UtilitiesUpdate cPFence.
  2. Select a specific server or choose All Servers (No local) from the dropdown.
  3. Click Run cPFence Update.

Note: This tool cannot update the main control panel server directly. For that, use the CLI method below.

Method 2: Update via CLI

To manually update from the terminal, run the following command on each server:

cpfence --update

Confirm the prompt when asked. This will apply the latest software and malware definitions.

Automatic Updates

Automatic daily updates are enabled by default. If you are using standard configurations, no manual intervention is needed. However, manual updates remain useful for immediate fixes or during troubleshooting.
